What is a doula?
A doula means “A woman who serves.”
Key Benefits of Working with a Doula
- Continuous Physical Comfort: Doulas utilize non-pharmacological pain management techniques, including counter-pressure, positioning shifts, breathing exercises, and massage to ease labor intensity.
- Evidence-Based Guidance: A doula helps you navigate medical options, understand hospital procedures, and communicate your birth preferences effectively to your care team.
- Unwavering Emotional Support: Having a dedicated, calm presence throughout labor reduces anxiety, fosters confidence, and provides continuous encouragement.
- Partner Involvement & Relief: Doulas support partners by guiding them on how to best assist during labor, allowing them to participate meaningfully without feeling overwhelmed.
- Improved Birth Outcomes: Research shows that continuous doula support is associated with shorter labors, lower rates of unexpected interventions or C-sections, and higher overall satisfaction with the birth experience.

Testimonials

“I literally cannot say enough good things about our experience – she was an essential part of our birth team that helped bring sweet Rowen into this world & helped me with the natural delivery of my dreams. And she even stayed with me while he was transferred to the NICU, despite a very long labor/delivery. She is beyond knowledgeable, strong, steady, encouraging, & was with me every step of the way! She made me feel calm, confident, powerful, & in control. If you’ve ever thought about hiring a doula, look no further!!!”

Anna was my doula, and I truly don’t know what I would’ve done without her. Every single nurse at the hospital had something amazing to say about her – they kept telling me how lucky I was, how I “got a good one,” or that they wanted her to be their doula! And honestly, they weren’t wrong! She helped me stay grounded through every step of labor, and I genuinely believe if it weren’t for her, I would’ve ended up in a C-section. She just knew exactly what I needed and when – emotionally and physically.”

“I am so blessed to have had Anna as my doula! She is the sweetest, most kind hearted woman – so who better to have by your side as you give birth? Anna was extremely helpful before, during, and after labor for both me and my husband, so even if you have a support person it is valuable to have Anna as your doula! She gave me really helpful resources and tips before hand and would check in with me as I was approaching and passed my due date. Then during labor, she was so positive, encouraging, but also level headed the entire time and gave us different suggestions for labor positions that would help bring baby down and relieve some of my pain. I honestly don’t think I would’ve been able to get through everything without her help. But thanks to Anna, I was able to have the exact birth I wanted and I’m so grateful for her role in making our birth experience so amazing!”
